# Cancel a swap order

Cancel a pending swap order in VESPR, or the part of it that hasn't filled yet, and see what you get back.

You can cancel a swap order while it's pending, or cancel the part of it that hasn't filled yet. You don't need to set collateral to cancel.

1. Open your orders: **Swap** → the orders icon at the top right → **Open Orders**. See [Find your open orders](/vespr/user-guide/the-basics/swap/finding-open-orders.md).
2. Tap the order, then tap **Cancel Order**. If part of it has already filled, the button reads **Cancel Remaining Order**. You can also swipe the order to the left in the list.
3. Check **You get back** and the network fee, then tap **Yes, cancel**. **No, go back** keeps the order.
4. Confirm it's you:
   * on iOS and Android, if you turned on **Unlock with** Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint or passcode in **Settings**, confirm with it;
   * in the extension, enter your password if asked;
   * with a Ledger or Keystone, approve on the device.
5. The sheet closes and VESPR shows **Order Canceled**. The order shows **Trying to cancel...** until the cancellation is confirmed on the blockchain, then **Canceled**.

You get back the amount that hasn't been swapped, with the DEX batcher fees and deposits of the parts that didn't fill. The network fees and VESPR's service fee aren't refunded. Cancelling an order you placed outside VESPR's Swap tab may include a service fee, shown before you confirm. Right after you place an order, there's no **Cancel Order** button yet, and swiping shows "Order cannot be canceled because it is still pending confirmation. Please try again later." Your order hasn't reached the blockchain yet. Wait a minute or two and try again.

A cancellation and a fill can happen at the same time. If part of the order fills before the cancellation is confirmed, that part can't be reversed. The cancellation then fails and you aren't charged for it, and you can cancel what's left.
